How We Deliver Your Bathroom On Time

Small Bathrooms, A Malvern Case Study

Our client has a family that’s growing older and her small bathroom’s just not coping!

Not only does she have a small bathroom, it’s also long and narrow making it more difficult to use than she liked. For example, to use the toilet, she had to squeeze past the shower cubicle and vanity.

Also, the décor had aged and she wanted her small bathroom’s renovation to bring the room into a more current era. Plus extra light!

Effectively, her brief was to make a small bathroom’s feel much larger and more modern by re-arranging the layout of the room, employing crisp, clean lines and open white spaces to give a sense of room.

Small bathroom's plan

After understanding her brief, we re-designed her little bathroom to improve its floor plan but also to deliver additional visual space.

We did this by creating a sunken walk in shower plus bath that sat behind a frameless shower screen. The bath hob tiles matched the white wall tiles, while the floor tiles were a mid-grey/brown colour.

These design choices and colours reduced the visual punctuation throughout the room, tricking the eye into believing her small bathroom’s more spacious than the floor plan would suggest.Small bathrooms before and after

We also placed a large shaving cabinet over the vanity using mirrors to create reflective space and lighten up the area.

On the practical side, some frame straightening was required after demolition to ensure such a small bathrooms lines were clean and sharp for the finished product.

The Budget?: $31k

What The Client Said

The new bathroom design has totally changed our bathroom and the way we use it. Even though it’s not a large bathroom, it feels much more open, more light and more usable. It’s just what we needed. Thanks!
